Empowering vulnerable women

Advocacy

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Homeless Outreach is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact. Contact us to learn more about our commitment to this cause.

We often organize focus group discussions in communities as part of an effort to effectively address the sociocultural norms and practices affecting vulnerable women’s health. Such community-level group discussions bring together opinion leaders, chiefs, government officials, and representatives of health organizations to identify sociocultural practices that have beneficial effects on the health of women. The discussions also focus on how to encourage the adoption of beneficial sociocultural practices across the country and how to maximize our collective impact.

The core objectives of our advocacy efforts are:

1. Bring a change in policy decisions and directions on health

2. Promote the establishment of infrastructures such as clinics and dispensaries in disadvantaged communities

3. Influence the distribution of medical equipment, supplies (e.g., drugs), and      health personnel

4. Promote the refurbishment of health facilities

5. Bring changes to health-sociocultural norms and practices damaging

6. Support programs that enhance communities’ awareness of health-promoting          practices such as drinking of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene

7. Give women the help and training they need to take control of their health and that of their children

8. Empower women to influence policies and sociocultural practices affecting their health
